1. Purpose
Joins 2 MEP connectors: the tool rotates and moves the 2nd element into strict opposition and connects — no manual rotate/move/align steps. Works for any MEP ends (pipes, ducts, trays, fittings).
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open a view showing both elements to join. You may pre-select exactly 2 elements, or pick them during the run. [image 01: two pipes awaiting connection]
- Click Auto connect in the VP_MEP tab, Common panel.
- If nothing was pre-selected: pick element 1 (the datum — it stays), then element 2 (it will move and rotate).
- Click near the connector to use on each element when asked. [image 02: clicking near the connector on each element]
- The tool rotates element 2 into strict opposition, slides it into place, and connects — the run is continuous.
4. Real-world example
A DN50 elbow sits rotated off the waiting pipe end on the roof. Select elbow + pipe, run the command, click near the 2 ends — the elbow rotates true, slides in, and joins the pipe, no manual Rotate/Move.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Phần tử 2 đang bị pin, không thể dịch chuyển." | Unpin element 2 and rerun |
| "Không tìm được connector hợp lệ." / "Không thể kết nối hai connector." | The 2 ends differ in system/size and can't join — check both ends |
| "Không thể xoay phần tử để connector ngược chiều strict." | The ends face too far apart — pre-rotate element 2 roughly right, then rerun |

- Align 2 elements in 3D — rough-move them close before the fine join.
- Tap a branch into the main duct — tap into a pipe body instead of end-to-end.
- Extend a fitting along its connection — when ends can't reach, stub out a short length.
