1. Purpose
Turns a running horizontal pipe run downward at 45 degrees in one click. Use it when a supply run must drop into a riser shaft, or when a drain needs a gentler slope than a 90-degree turn.

3. Steps
- Open a view where the run to turn is clearly visible. [image 01: the horizontal run before the drop]
- Click Dw45 in the VP_MEP tab, Draw 3D panel.
- Pick one point right on the pipe body — pipes, ducts, conduits and cable trays all work. [image 02: the picked point on the pipe]
- The tool draws a 45-degree downward leg 300mm long by default, elbow included. Press Esc to cancel. [image 03: the finished 45-degree leg]
4. Real-world example
A DN32 ceiling supply run must drop into the riser shaft. Click Dw45, pick a point above the shaft — the 45-degree leg guides the pipe down smoothly, and the following elbow turns into the shaft more neatly than a square bend.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Selected element is pinned." | The pipe is pinned — unpin it, then rerun |
| Clicking draws nothing | You missed the pipe — pick a point exactly on the pipe body |
| The leg has no elbow | This route's elbow family has no 45-degree type — load one, then rerun |
