Rotate a fitting to its connection (Fit rotate)
Rotate a fitting to match the connection direction.
1. Purpose
Rotates a fitting about a straight-segment axis to meet its connection direction, typing the angle in a dialog instead of eyeballing a manual rotate. Use it when an elbow/tee sits nearly right but off by tens of degrees.

3. Steps
- Open a view showing the fitting to rotate and the pipe run serving as axis. You may pre-select the fittings to rotate. [image 01: misaligned elbow and the axis run]
- Click Fit rotate in the VP_MEP tab, Common panel.
- Pick 1 straight pipe segment as the rotation axis when asked — it need not connect to the fitting. [image 02: picking the straight axis segment]
- If nothing was pre-selected, pick the fitting to rotate.
- Type the angle in the dialog and OK — the tool rotates the fitting about the axis and keeps the selection for another pass if needed.
4. Real-world example
A DN65 rooftop elbow sits ~30 degrees off the waiting pipe. Select the elbow, run the command, pick the waiting run as axis, type 30 degrees — the elbow swings true; just join it with Auto connect afterwards.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Co phan tu dang bi pin, vui long bo pin truoc khi xoay." | Unpin the fitting and rerun |
| "Khong xac dinh duoc truc xoay." | Re-pick a clear straight pipe segment as axis |
| A curved segment/elbow is refused as axis | The axis must be a straight segment — pick another |
