1. Purpose
Caps open standby pipe ends with the right-DN cap in one pass. Use it when sealing apartment water stubs, or when capping runs for a pressure test before handover.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open a view showing the open ends to cap. [image 01: standby ends awaiting caps]
- Click Cap end in the VP_MEP tab, Plumbing panel.
- When asked to pick a pipe or fitting, click each end to cap (press Esc to finish). [image 02: picking a pipe end]
- The tool fits the matching-DN cap on each picked end; any failing end pops a CapEnd dialog with the reason. [image 03: capped pipe ends]
4. Real-world example
A corridor serves 10 apartments, each with 2 uncapped DN20 stubs awaiting a pressure test. Click Cap end, pick all 20 ends — caps go on, and the CapEnd dialog flags any failing end for a follow-up.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| CapEnd dialog flags one end | Read the reason inside — usually a DN with no cap size |
| Picking an already capped end | Skip it — the tool only caps open ends |
| Picking fits no cap | You picked a pipe middle — pick a true end or fitting |
