Combine 1 elbow 1 Y-branch (1E1Y)
Create a 1-elbow plus 1-Y-branch assembly for a pipe route.
1. Purpose
Joins a branch pipe into the main pipe as one 1-elbow + 1-Y-branch (tee) assembly in a single run. Use it when tying a floor branch into a riser or a main without sketching elbows and tees by hand.

3. Steps
- Open a 3D view showing both the main and the branch to join. [image 01: main and branch before joining]
- Click 1E1Y inside the Gom pulldown in the VP_MEP tab, Plumbing panel.
- When asked to pick the main pipe, click it. [image 02: picking the main pipe]
- When asked to pick the branch pipe, click it. The tool builds the link, fits an elbow on the branch end, then tees into the main. [image 03: the finished 1-elbow 1-branch assembly]
4. Real-world example
A DN110 floor-3 bathroom branch must tie into the vertical stack. Click 1E1Y, pick the stack, then pick the branch — the elbow + tee assembly lands neatly with no manual measuring.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Esc mid-way loses everything | The command works as a pick pair — restart from the main-pipe pick |
| Picking joins nothing | The pipes are too far apart or skewed — move the branch closer, then rerun |
| Tee fails to join the main | The DN pair has no tee size in the family — check both DNs, then rerun |
