1. Purpose
Flattens every 3D (model-extent, over-long) grid in the open plan to tidy 2D in one pass. Use it before dimensioning and grid copying: 3D grids make dims jump around and the grid-copy command refuses to run.

3. Steps
- Open 1 Floor Plan (not a template) showing the grids to tidy. [image 01: plan with over-long 3D grids]
- Click CoverGrid2D in the VP_LAYOUT tab, Layout panel — no pre-selection needed.
- The tool walks each grid in the view, converts the 3D ones to 2D, then summarizes: total grids, converted, already 2D, failed. [image 02: 2D conversion summary]
4. Real-world example
Level 5 arrives from the linked architecture model with 13 grids stabbing through 12 storeys. Open level 5, press CoverGrid2D — the report says 13 grids, 11 converted, 2 already 2D. The view goes clean and later grid dims snap to the right ends.
