1. Purpose
Ties a vent branch into a pipe run with a square 90-degree bend that fits tight shafts. Use it when the vent branch has no room for a diagonal and must turn square from the drain up to the stack.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open a 3D view showing the vent pipe and the pipe to join. [image 01: two pipes awaiting the 90-degree tie]
- Click Ven90 inside the vent-tools pulldown in the VP_MEP tab, Plumbing panel.
- When asked to pick the vent pipe, click it; when asked to pick the connecting pipe, click the other one. [image 02: picking both pipes]
- When asked to pick the shared DN for both pipes, choose one and confirm — the tool builds the 90-degree branch joining them. [image 03: the finished 90-degree vent branch]
4. Real-world example
A 250mm shaft leaves a DN75 vent no choice but a square turn from the DN110 drain up to the stack. Click Ven90, pick the vent, then the drain, pick the shared DN — the square branch tucks inside the shaft.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| No shared DN to pick | The two DNs are too far apart — bring one end closer, then rerun |
| The joint lands open | The 90-degree elbow family lacks the picked DN — load it, then rerun |
| The button is nowhere to be seen | It lives inside the vent-tools pulldown — expand the arrow to find it |
