Copy data
Copy E_Area, E_Wire and E_LoadName from source elements to target elements.
1. Purpose
Copies the trio of electrical parameters (E_Area zone, E_Wire wire, E_LoadName load name) from one sample element to many targets — one pass for a whole floor instead of opening Properties element by element. Parameters missing on the sample are skipped; per-target failures are reported by id.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Click Copy data in the CircuitData pulldown, VP_MEP tab, Electrical panel.
- Pick one source element that already carries E_Area/E_Wire/E_LoadName. [image 01: picking the source element]
- Keep picking target elements (several in a row). [image 02: picking target elements]
- The tool copies the 3 parameters onto each target; failures come back as "Copy completed with issues:" with one line per id. [image 03: per-element issue report]
4. Real-world example
20 floor-4 sockets share one run (E_Area "T4", E_Wire "CV-3x2.5", E_LoadName "T4 sockets") — freshly drawn, no parameters yet. Fill in one sample socket, run the command, pick the source then the 19 others — the whole floor has data in 2 minutes.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Source không có dữ liệu để copy." (source has no data) | The source is empty on all 3 parameters — fill the sample first (or use Paste Excel), then rerun |
| "Element \<id\>: missing parameter ..." | A target lacks that parameter (different family) — add the shared parameter to the family, then rerun |
| "Element \<id\>: parameter ... is read-only." | A target parameter is locked — check the family, unlock it, then rerun |
| "Element \<id\>: ... storage type mismatch ..." | Source/target types differ (text vs number) — align the parameter types on both sides, then rerun |
