Pick the E_Area, E_LoadName or E_Wire parameter to filter elements with the same value in the active view.
1. Purpose
Pick one sample element and the tool selects every element sharing its E_Area, E_LoadName, or E_Wire value in the open view — no manual marquee-picking one by one. Use it to audit or batch-handle devices of the same zone, run, or wire type.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open the view holding the elements to filter (the command only scans the Active View).
- Click Similar in the CircuitData pulldown, VP_MEP tab, Electrical panel.
- Choose one parameter to match: E_Area (zone), E_LoadName (load name), or E_Wire (wire). [image 01: the E_Area / E_LoadName / E_Wire parameter picker]
- Pick one source element that already has that parameter value — the tool selects everything with the same value in the view. [image 02: picking the sample and the highlighted same-zone result]
4. Real-world example
Floor 3's plan holds 60 lights across 4 zones (E_Area A/B/C/D); zone B needs an audit. Run the command, choose E_Area, pick one zone-B light — all 15 zone-B lights highlight at once, audit done in a minute.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Phần tử nguồn không có giá trị ..." (source has no value) | The sample element lacks that parameter value — pick one that already carries E_Area/E_LoadName/E_Wire |
| Nothing extra gets selected | No other element shares the value in this view — check the open view covers the right floor/zone |
| An element cannot be picked | Only electrical-data elements are pickable — plain architectural/structural elements are rejected |
