Object detection

Find elements missing E_Area, E_Wire or E_LoadName and select them from a list.

Ribbon location:
VP_MEP > Electrical > CircuitData
Command:
ObjectDetection

1. Purpose

Scans the whole open view and lists electrical elements still missing E_Area, E_Wire, or E_LoadName as 3 counted lists — pick one list and exactly that group highlights for fixing. Use it to audit before circuiting, so no "mute" device without data slips through.

2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)

[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]

3. Steps

  1. Open the view to audit (the command only scans the Active View).
  2. Click Object detection in the CircuitData pulldown, VP_MEP tab, Electrical panel.
  3. After the scan, 3 lists appear: missing E_Area (count), missing E_Wire (count), missing E_LoadName (count). [image 01: the 3 counted lists picker]
  4. Choose one list — the tool selects exactly that group, replacing the current selection. After assigning data, rerun the command to verify. [image 02: the missing-E_Area group highlighted]

4. Real-world example

Before circuiting floor 5, run the command on its electrical plan: 6 missing E_Area, 6 missing E_Wire, 9 missing E_LoadName. Choose the missing-E_LoadName list — 9 sockets highlight, assign them in one batch with Copy data, rerun until clean, then circuit.

5. Common errors
