1. Purpose
Drops the sheet numbers of the selected sheets down one notch in a single click — the tool sorts by the sheet-number text and works from the smallest string up, so a run of same-width numbers (E-106, E-107, ...) shifts without collisions. Use it when sheets leave the set: pull the whole run down to close the gap.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- In the Project Browser, select the sheets to drop (hold Ctrl for many) — or select a schedule sitting on a sheet. [image 01: sheets selected in the Project Browser]
- Click Decrement number in the VP_LAYOUT tab, Sheets panel.
- The tool sorts sheets by the sheet-number text (smallest string first), drops each, and reports: OK lines read "old -> new", SKIP lines carry a reason for sheets left alone. [image 02: decrement result table]
4. Real-world example
The client cuts 2 details: sheets E-104 and E-105 leave the electrical set at E-106…E-112. Select E-106 through E-112, run the command — the run drops one notch to E-105…E-111; run it again and it settles at E-104…E-110 with no numbering holes left.
5. Common errors
| Symptom (tool message, Vietnamese) | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Hãy chọn sheet trên Project Browser hoặc chọn Schedule trên Sheet trước khi chạy lệnh." | Nothing selected — select sheets in the Project Browser (or a schedule on a sheet), then rerun |
| SKIP "Không tìm thấy cụm số để dịch chuyển.", "Không thể đọc giá trị số hiện tại.", "Giá trị sau khi giảm nhỏ hơn 0." or "Sheet number rỗng." | The sheet number has no shiftable numeric cluster, cannot be read, is already at 0, or is empty — renumber that sheet by hand |
| FAIL line starting "FAIL:" | The target number already belongs to another sheet — with mixed-width numbers (9, 10) the run can collide with itself, so renumber that sheet by hand and rerun |
