1. Purpose
Merges scattered circuits into a single one, three ways: merge adjacent slots on the panel schedule, move circuits onto the same panel, or gather elements into one circuit. Use it to consolidate loads and cut circuit count after a design change.

3. Steps
- Click Merge circuits in the VP_MEP tab, Electrical panel.
- Take one of three paths:
- Inside a panel schedule: preselect several same-panel circuits with adjacent slot numbers — the tool merges them at once. [image 01: selecting adjacent circuits on the panel schedule] - Moving to one panel: pick the target panel, then pick the elements whose circuits move to it. [image 02: picking the target panel, then elements] - Gathering into one circuit: pick one circuited element, then pick the elements to gather into its circuit. [image 03: picking the source element, then elements to gather]
- With nothing preselected, the command first asks for one circuited element or circuit, then asks for the rest.
4. Real-world example
Panel DB-T1 holds single-phase circuits C-5, C-6, C-7 in adjacent slots, two lights each — three slots wasted. Open the panel schedule, select the 3 circuits, run the command — one 6-light circuit remains, two slots freed for new runs.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "The circuits must be touching in the Panelboard schedule" | Schedule circuits must sit in adjacent slots — recheck the slot numbers |
| "The circuits do not have the same number of poles" | Circuits must share the pole count — merge single-phase with single-phase only |
| Picked a panel but nothing moved | The picked elements are on a different system than the target panel — check the system type |
