1. Purpose
Detaches loads from their circuits (unhooks connectors from the system) and deletes selected circuit elements outright — clears leftover circuits after a redesign instead of deleting wires by hand. The tool reports how many loads were detached and how many circuits deleted.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Preselect circuited elements (or whole panels/circuits to delete); with nothing selected the command asks you to pick circuited elements or a panel. [image 01: selecting elements to uncircuit]
- Click Remove circuit in the VP_MEP tab, Electrical panel.
- The tool detaches each load from its circuit; elements that are circuits get deleted from the project. [image 02: the Removed items / Deleted circuits result]
- Read the result: "Removed items" counts detached loads, "Deleted circuits" counts deleted circuits.
4. Real-world example
Floor 3 drops 4 storage rooms, leaving 10 lights and circuits C-21, C-22 surplus. Select the 10 lights plus the 2 circuits, run the command — loads detached, both circuits gone from the project, panel schedule tidied in one click.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Reports Removed items: 0 | The selection has no circuits or no connectors — recheck what you selected |
| A circuit stays on the schedule | The circuit itself was not selected (only its loads were) — select the circuit element too, then rerun |
| Cannot pick elements unpreselected | The picker only accepts circuited elements or panels — delete uncircuited elements normally |
