1. Purpose
Prints many sheets in one click — to a paper printer or to PDF files (optionally merged into one file) — instead of opening every sheet to print. Use it at submission time: one print set, one run, the full pack.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Prepare the print list: select sheets in the Project Browser, or reuse a set saved with Create print set. [image 01: chosen print set]
- Click Print sheets in the VP_LAYOUT tab, Print panel.
- In the print dialog, pick the printer (or a PDF printer), tick the sheets to print, choose merged-PDF output for a single file, and print. [image 02: print dialog with the sheet list]
- The tool prints each sheet and reports the final tally: which sheets finished, which failed and why. [image 03: print result report]
4. Real-world example
Submitting batch 1: the Batch1-Arch set holds 15 sheets. Run the command, pick the PDF printer, tick merge-into-one Batch1-Arch.pdf, print — five minutes later one PDF file goes to the client, no hand-merging 15 loose files.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Select a printer before exporting PDF" | PDF export is ticked but no printer is picked — pick any printer (a PDF printer counts), then reprint |
| "Invalid merged PDF file name" | The merged name holds forbidden characters (\ / : * ? " < > \|) — simplify the name, then reprint |
| Printout misses sheets | The dialog only prints ticked sheets — recheck the ticks and the print set before printing |
| Blank pages after PDF export | Views on the sheet hide their graphics (view template, crop, worksets) — eyeball the sheet before bulk-printing |
