1. Purpose
Places many floor plans, sections, and schedules onto sheets (drawings) in one click, instead of dragging each viewport by hand. Use it when issuing documents: dozens of similar views need to go onto many sheets at once.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open at least 1 sheet (not a placeholder sheet) and at least 1 view or schedule (not a view template, not a Titleblock Revision Schedule). [image 01: open sheet and view tabs]
- Click Put views in sheet in the VP_LAYOUT tab, Sheets panel.
- In the dialog, tick the views to place, pick the destination sheet, and click OK. [image 02: view picker plus destination sheet]
- The tool places each view at the center of the sheet, then shows a result table: placed views report Success, skipped ones report SKIP with a reason, failures report Failed. [image 03: Success/Skipped/Failed result table]
4. Real-world example
A 12-storey building, one plan per floor. Open sheet A1-01 plus the 4 views for floors 1–4, run the command, tick the 4 views, OK — 4 viewports sit neatly centered on the sheet in half a minute. Repeat for the remaining 2 sheets and all 12 floors are done.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| "No open Sheet and View/Schedule found" | Open at least 1 sheet and 1 view, then rerun (the command only works with open tabs, it never searches the whole project) |
| "No open Sheet found" | Open at least 1 non-placeholder sheet, then rerun |
| SKIP line "Schedule already exists on sheet" | That schedule is already on the sheet — untick it and rerun |
| SKIP line "Cannot place a Sheet on another Sheet" | Untick sheet views; only tick plans, sections, and schedules |
| SKIP line "Cannot place on sheet" | That view is picky (sitting on another sheet or a view template) — check the view |
