Reroute around one clash (Reroute)
Reroute to avoid a collision with one element.
1. Purpose
Bends one pipe/duct run that hits an obstacle (beam, another pipe) into an over/under detour, typing the vertical offset (mm) and fitting angle in a dialog. No deleting and redrawing the whole run.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open a view showing where the run hits the obstacle. [image 01: pipe hitting a beam]
- Click Reroute inside Reroute Tools in the VP_MEP tab, Common panel.
- Pick the run and the first break point when asked.
- Pick the second break point when asked — the segment between the 2 points is what bends aside. [image 02: two break points bracketing the obstacle]
- In the dialog, type the Vertical Offset (mm) and pick the Fitting Angle (degrees), then OK — the tool builds the detour over the obstacle. [image 03: offset and angle dialog]
4. Real-world example
A DN50 water pipe hits a 300 mm corridor beam. Run the command, pick the pipe, place 2 points around the beam, type 350 mm offset, 45 degrees — the run bends over the beam and flows again in one click.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Break points too close, no detour builds | Spread the 2 points farther apart for room to bend both ends |
| Offset too small, the run still hits the obstacle | Type an offset bigger than the obstacle and rerun |
| The fitting angle isn't listed | Pick the nearest angle in the dialog (list follows the project's fitting types) |
