Nudge the section box stepwise (Slide section box)
Move the section box by a fixed step.
1. Purpose
Slides a 3D view's section box up/down/left/right in fixed steps from a floating panel that stays open — review the model stretch by stretch. Open the panel once, then keep tapping slide buttons — no dragging box faces by hand.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open a 3D view with its Section Box enabled. [image 01: 3D view with an active section box]
- Click Slide section box inside Section box in the VP_MEP tab, View panel.
- A floating panel appears and stays — tap its direction buttons to step the box, tap repeatedly to travel far. [image 02: floating panel and the box stepping per tap]
- If the panel was closed, click the command again to bring the same panel back (no duplicates).
4. Real-world example
Reviewing a riser crossing 12 floors: box floor 1 with Section box top/bot, open the slide panel, keep tapping up — the box climbs floor by floor, checking each floor's joints in one consistent frame.
5. Common errors
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Slide buttons do nothing | Check the 3D view really has its Section Box enabled |
| The floating panel vanished after closing | Click Slide section box again to recall it (no new panel) |
| Long travel takes many taps | Tap in rhythm — one fixed step per tap, tap more to go far |
