1. Purpose
Forces a sheet viewport to hug a pre-drawn detail-line boundary instead of dragging each crop-region edge by hand inside the view. Use it for enlarged details: show only the lift lobby plus corridor, and cut the rest of the plan away.
2. Quick video (≤ 2 minutes)
[Video in production — follow the steps below for now.]
3. Steps
- Open the sheet and draw a closed polygon with detail lines around the area to keep. [image 01: closed detail-line polygon on the sheet]
- Select 1 viewport to crop, hold Ctrl and add the polygon's detail lines (at least 3 segments). [image 02: viewport and polygon selected together]
- Click Crop viewport in the VP_LAYOUT tab, Layout panel.
- The tool applies the polygon as the view's crop region and the viewport shrinks to the boundary — check the sheet and you are done.
4. Real-world example
Sheet A1-05 details the typical-floor lift. On the sheet, draw a detail-line rectangle tight around the lift lobby, select the plan viewport plus the 4 frame segments, run the command — the viewport shrinks to exactly the lift area, no crop-region dragging inside the view.
5. Common errors
| Symptom (tool message, Vietnamese) | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Hãy chọn một viewport và biên dạng detail lines khép kín trước khi chạy lệnh." | Nothing selected — select 1 viewport plus the polygon before running |
| "Cần chọn ít nhất một viewport." | Only detail lines selected, viewport forgotten — add the viewport |
| "Cần chọn một polygon khép kín (tối thiểu 3 detail lines)." | Boundary not closed or fewer than 3 segments — close the polygon and rerun |
